Cleveland Teaching Fellowship welcomes second cohort   CSU among 16 teacher prep programs recognized for national excellence in educator prep

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) announced May 15 that the College of Education and Human Services at Cleveland State University is one of 16 providers from 10 states and the District of Columbia to receive accreditation for their educator preparation programs. Laura Northrop, Elena Andrei, Adam Voight and Wendy Green in the Cleveland State University College of Education and Human Services presented April 27-May 1 in San Antonio, Texas at the American Educational Research Association’s (AERA) Annual Meeting, the premier education research conference. Located at the north border of the Cleveland State University Campus at 2160 Payne Avenue, the Campus International School is a 92,000 square foot, four story K-8 school. A Cleveland Metropolitan School District public school partnership with Cleveland State, the Campus International School opened August 10 with 750 students. Read More

Dr. Julia Phillips, an associate professor in the Department of Counseling, Administration, Supervision and Adult Learning (CASAL) at Cleveland State University’s College of Education and Human Services, has been selected as the new Director of Doctoral Studies. Dr. Phillips, who will also continue as a faculty member in CASAL, leads the doctoral studies program into its 31st year in 2017-18. Read More

Dr. Lisa Meeks contributes lead gift to Urban Ed Ph.D. fund   Shana Strunk, Chris Axelrod find their way through research

When a tragic fire destroyed most of Dr. Lisa Meeks’ belongings while pursuing her Ph.D. in Urban Education at Cleveland State University, she was devastated. Her CSU cohorts quickly rallied around providing her with essentials, including clothing, food and class notes to prepare for the comprehensive exams. Read More
