Cleveland Teaching Fellowship announces 3rd Cohort of 44 students for 2018-19 school year   CSU students serve as tutors in schools around Cleveland

The Cleveland Teaching Fellowship (CTF) welcomed 44 students from the Cleveland State University (CSU) College of Education and Human Services for its 3rd Cohort. These 44 fellows competed for and earned the opportunity to have paid practicum and student teaching experiences in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) for the 2018-19 school year. A group of dedicated Cleveland State University students spent six weeks this summer as tutors in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. They worked with children in nine schools around the city on early literacy as part of CMSD’s Early Childhood Summer Reading Academy. Read More

 
K-12 teachers from across Northeast Ohio travel to CSU for STEMM Education Conference   CSU Sport Management Summer Institute gives students unique look at careers in sport and entertainment industry

More than 75 K-12 teachers from across Northeast Ohio converged in June for the two-day STEMM Education Conference at Cleveland State University’s College of Education and Human Services in Julka Hall. The conference provided an immersive experience in STEM education including keynote speakers; breakout sessions; campus tours; and vendor tables. Read More

 

Nearly 20 high school students from across Northeast Ohio gathered in June for an unparalleled glimpse at a career path in the sport and entertainment industry. The inaugural Cleveland State University Sport Management Summer Institute is a complement to the Sport Management program housed in Cleveland State’s College of Education and Human Services in the Health and Human Performance Department. Reducing fall risk for MS patients   Claire Grantier joins CEHS as Director of the Center for Educational Technology

A new study produced by Cleveland State University has identified a potential link between lower levels of vitamin D and a higher risk for falls in patients with multiple sclerosis. The research could help improve treatment and reduce injuries caused by lack of balance, which is a key problem for individuals suffering from the disease. Read More

 

The Cleveland State University College of Education and Human Services welcomes Claire Grantier to Julka Hall where she will serve as Director of the Center for Educational Technology. Claire comes to Cleveland State from the Sandusky City Schools where she managed the district’s instructional technology. Read More

 
Congratulations to Dennis DeCoulo on his retirement after more than two decades of service to CSU   CSU STEMM Education Center works with a trio schools to STEM School designation

The Cleveland State University College of Education and Human Services congratulates Dennis DeCoulo on his retirement following the 2017-18 academic year. Dennis, who spent more than two decades at Cleveland State, was an instructional media specialist and most recently served as the interim director for the Center for Educational Technologies. The Cleveland State University (CSU) STEMM Education Center worked with a trio of schools who earned official STEM school designation following approval from the Ohio STEM Committee. Gesu Catholic School in University Heights; Boulevard Elementary School in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District; and Orchard STEM School in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District were all selected for the Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN) Class of 2018.
