The Lead

  • CSU President Harlan Sands will hold his weekly virtual Town Hall this Wednesday, April 15 at 1 p.m. ET, on the university’s Facebook page. If you miss the live event, an archived replay will be available on the page. Archived replays of the president’s past virtual Town Halls are also available.

  • Remote teaching and learning will be extended to include all summer sessions. We will closely monitor guidance from state and federal authorities and the CDC to determine if and when select courses with a major hands-on component, such as certain labs or clinical programs, can safely be held in a face-to-face mode during summer.
  • In addition, the previously announced Pass/Fail grading option and the suspension of the academic standing policy will also be extended through summer 2020.

Questions we’re receiving:

  • Will CSU issue any pro-rated refunds to students of other fees, such as lab fees, printing or athletics for spring semester?
We are in the process of completing pro-rated refunds to students of housing, meal plans and parking. No additional refunds of other fees for spring semester are anticipated.
  • Will CSU hold a virtual commencement ceremony on May 9?
We plan to honor our graduates with a virtual celebration of their achievement on May 9, and expect to hold a traditional, in-person commencement ceremony later this summer, possibly in August for both our spring and summer graduates. More information on the May 9 celebration will be forthcoming.
  • How long will remote teaching and learning continue?
We have extended remote teaching and learning to include all summer courses. We are closely monitoring guidance from state and federal authorities and the CDC to determine when face-to-face coursework on campus can safely resume.
