The Lead

  • Yesterday, CSU women’s basketball coach Chris Kielsmeier released a video to the university community in which he expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support he has received during his ongoing recuperation from COVID-19. You can view Coach K’s message here.

For Faculty and Staff

  • Faculty and staff are reminded to check the yearend deadlines for purchasing and accounts payable matters such as competitive bids, purchase requisitions and payment requests. More information is available here.

Questions we’re receiving:

  • How can prospective grad students apply for graduate assistantships?
Graduate students interested in graduate assistantships should apply for admission and then contact the department to which they applied for information on graduate assistantships. More information on the types of assistantships available can be found here.
  • I need to maintain a certain GPA to keep my scholarship. How are GPA requirements impacted by pass/fail courses?
Pass/fail grades are not factored into the calculation of GPA. If you already have a GPA sufficient to maintain your scholarship, a pass/fail grade will not impact it one way or the other. More information on the pass/fail option can be found here.
  • Can student organizations meet off campus over the summer if Ohio’s Stay at Home order is lifted?
If the Stay at Home order is lifted, health and safety should still be the first considerations in deciding if groups should meet face to face over the summer. In addition, some individuals may be reluctant to participate in person, so virtual options should also be considered. In all cases, groups should follow guidance from public health officials and the CDC on the size of gatherings and social distancing. Contact CSU’s Center for Student Involvement for more information.
  • What is CSU’s plan for returning to campus?
Our number one priority is the safety and health of our community. We will follow closely the guidance of local, state and federal authorities, and the CDC, on how to resume operations after Ohio's Stay at Home order is lifted. We are also developing detailed plans under various scenarios on how to resume on-campus activity, including face-to-face learning, as conditions permit.
