December 23, 2020

Operating Status
Campus: ONLY DESIGNATED ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEES, STUDENTS LIVING IN THE RESIDENCE Halls AND OTHERS WITH PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE PROVOST’S OFFICE OR HUMAN RESOURCES ARE PERMITTED ON CAMPUS.
Classes: SPRING SEMESTER CLASSES WILL begin for all students ON JANuary 19, 2021

We hope you’re enjoying your winter break! After a busy fall semester with plenty of changes, you deserve this time to relax and enjoy the season.

Even though you’re away from campus and school-related activities, please continue to stay vigilant; wear your masks, stay at least 6 feet apart from others and clean your hands often. Please follow local public health guidance wherever you are. If you are in a hotspot state, county or travel internationally, please stay home for 14 days before you return to campus. Your compliance with local health protocols will help to ensure that we have a safe start to spring semester on Tuesday, January 19!

With the vaccine now approved, the finish line is nearly in sight. Until vaccines are widely available, however, we all must continue to do our part to keep our campus community safe. Thank you for your hard work and dedication!

As 2020 winds down, here’s some important information to get you ready for a successful start to 2021.

Spring Semester Weekday Classes Begin Tuesday, January 19

While spring semester classes officially kick-off on Saturday, January 16, the majority our courses will begin on Tuesday, January 19. Approximately 44 percent of classes will take place on-campus spring semester and have been loaded into CampusNet. Our facilities team will be busy over the break cleaning and sanitizing all spaces and surfaces on campus to keep all of us safe and healthy.

Residence Halls to Reopen January 9

CSU residence halls Euclid Commons and Fenn Tower will reopen on Saturday, January 9. In order to keep fellow residents healthy, students will need to take a free, rapid COVID-19 test prior to entering the residence halls. Tests can be scheduled online through CSU Health & Wellness’ My Vike Chart portal.

Look for an email from Residence Life (sent to your CSU email address) with on-campus re-entry and move in instructions.

Viking Marketplace, Recreation Center and Bookstore to Reopen Monday, January 4

All CSU dining locations will be closed through January 3. The Viking Marketplace will reopen on Monday, January 4 and will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.

All CSU dining locations will reopen on Tuesday, January 19.

The Recreation Center reopens to students only on January 4 and will operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through January 18. Spring semester hours will resume on Tuesday, January 19.

Books for spring semester classes are now available for purchase. If you plan to purchase your books online, please plan to do so as soon as possible to avoid shipping delays with UPS and FedEx. The CSU bookstore, Viking Outfitters, will also reopen on January 4, at which time spring semester books can be purchased in-store.

Stay tuned for more information regarding Student Life’s 2021 Chillfest, taking place January 19-23, and mark you calendar to tune in to President Sands’ Facebook Town Hall at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20.

Enjoy winter break!
